I am finishing up some long forgotten projects. I made the crocheted Wonder Woman costume two years ago. I was proud of myself for figuring out how to add her 'bust'. It's a cute, tiny little outfit. This week I was being pressured from the kids and the husband to make all these super hero characters. My husband painted quite a few bodies, but left the fine facial details, logos etc. to me. There are at least a dozen of these clothes pin dolls in the works, for now enjoy Wonder Woman.

Valentine cards
I haven't done much crafting lately. I am finally getting over the cold/sinus infection I fought over the last few weeks. But the kids keep bringing me projects. With Valentine's day approaching they are supposed to bring cards to exchange with their classmates.
I could have bought some at the store, but decided to make them by hand. I used blank index cards cut in half, used some stamps, black and red ink....and made a stack for Patrick (above) and a stack for Maggie (below).
I know kindergarteners and preschoolers probably won't care or know the difference between handmade and store bought, but I just wanted to make something special for my kids and their friends.

Valen-time
Maggie calls Valentine's Day, Valen-time. And this year on Valen-time, it will be time to deliver my Christmas present to the kids.
A couple of Christmases ago I started giving 'experience' gifts to my kids, rather than buying stuff. Last year we went to Knott's Berry Farm. This year as I struggled to find the right fun trip, I noticed that the band Eels is going on a tour. And The Eels is Patrick and Maggie's favorite band.
We were on a trip to the Grand Canyon in the fall of 2011 when they got familiar with the Eels. David had bought Mr. E's book 'Things the grandchildren should know' on Audible, and to keep myself awake while driving I listened to it. Upon returning home they started asking me to play Uncle E's music. I am not sure where they got Uncle E, but they've called him that ever since.
So this Thursday, Valen-time's Day, we are going to drive to California, visit a real uncle, my uncle Pavel in Palm Springs, and then drive to Santa Ana to see Mr. E perform with his band The Eels.

Secrets she tells me
My daughter likes to tell me secrets. I think I will be breaking mother/daughter confidentiality if I were to share them with you, but I will share just one. One little secret. Promise not to tell.
'Mom', she whispers, 'I gotta tell you a secret. Bruce Wayne is Batman.'
